Illness and More

I know I haven't been posting as often as I want to. Trying to balance raising kids, a sick kid, volunteer position, and my storenvy shop has been crazy. Hoping I can get into the swing of things soon. A couple of upcoming posts will be reviews for mombox from influenster, and a line of plates and napkins for cafemom. Also, plan on introducing a couple new projects in the works for my store along with some fun kid activities. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be busy with a family picnic and a bridal shower for my youngest sister.

The Fiddler by Beverly Lewis

The Fiddler is another one of Beverly's great books that involves the Amish. I have read many of her books and enjoyed then all. In this story a modern women named Amelia and an Amish man named Michael meet up one night when a flat tire during a storm causes Amelia to find shelter. Amelia and Michael are both questioning where there lives are going and what they should be doing. There chance encounter helps them both figure out what they want in their lives.  I think the struggles both Amelia and Michael were going through were ones a lot of people can relate to.  They both were trying to figure out where they should go in life but were not wanting to hurt their parents at the same time since their parents had other ideas of what they should be doing. Even though I love reading all of Beverly's books about the Amish life, it was nice to read one that dealt more with the world outside of Amish and some of the struggles some of the coming of age Amish deal with when deciding if the Amish life is really for them or if the world outside of the Amish is more for them.  Another thing I liked about this book was that the story came to an end at the book, instead of waiting for the next book to come out to see what was going to happen with Amelia and Michael.  I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. I have an idea that they will be about other characters introduced in this story, so will be interesting to see how they play out.

I received this book from Bethany House Publishing Group for free for a review.  The opinions expressed are my own.

Crochet Monsters

These are the crochet monsters I have been making.  I am currently selling them in my store Unique Creations by Tracy.  For a limited time they are on sale for $10.00 each. All monsters are made when ordered because I custom make them using the colors you would like.  Each monster usually takes 2 days to make. They are definitely loved in my home.  Here is a picture of my kids with all their monsters.

Trains, Trains, and More Trains!

A is a big train fan! Today we went to the Transportation Museum which has lots of trains.  Let me tell you he was in heaven, even though he had been the weekend before with his dad. He loves getting up in the trains and looking at the insides, and being able to touch some of the levers.  They also have a small train that he loves riding on.  As of today, I think he has an all time new favorite area of the Transportation Museum which is the Creation Station.  Today was the first time we have gone to the Creation Station area, and let me tell you it is very cool. They had so much too do in this area for the kids. There was art projects, dress up area, several train tables, play kitchen area, school bus slide, and so much more. It is an additional $2 a person to play in this area for an hour and very worth it.  This is something we will be doing again. Here are a few pics that I took.

M's Gymnastics Show

M has completed a year of gymnastics.  This past Saturday the gymnastics place had a show for all the family to watch the skills that the children have learned over the last year.  Can't believe how much she has grown in her confidence and gymnastics skills in a year.  I took lots of pictures, but can only share two because other children are in the pictures and I don't have permission to share them publicly.

That is M on the balance beam with her dad in the background talking to her brother behind her.  At the beginning she would not walk the balance beam without help.  Now she walks it like she has been doing it all her life.

After class was over they let all the kids and their siblings play. so here are M and A.
