Featured Shop Wednesday: Paper Selvage

Welcome back to a new week of Featured Shop Wednesday! This week please welcome Lorelai from Paper Selvage!

Tell me a bit about yourself
My name is Lorelai and I am a Boston native residing in Los Angeles. I spend most of my time sewing, blogging and traveling. When I'm not working, you can find me volunteering at animal rescue groups. I help walk dogs, bottle feeding kittens and squirrels, as well as rehabbing elephant seals and other marine rescues. Not all at the same place of course!

Tell me about your shop and what you make.
Paper Selvage features hand pressed paper made entirely of recycled fibers. All of my paper is made with a mixture of recycled paper, fabric and pattern tissue left over from my sewing projects. Each sheet is one of kind and showcases beautiful abstractions of fabric fibers. Great for paper crafts, personalized notes, gift tags, wedding guest books, scrapbooking, etc.

What inspires you to make what you make?
Paper is becoming somewhat of a lost art. I love sending cards and letters with a personal touch. When I noticed how much wasted tissue, fabric and thread gets thrown out during a sewing project, it occurred to me to put the two together.

Fun Questions:

Favorite Color: Green
Favorite TV Show: Game of Thrones
Favorite Season: Autumn
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Salted Carmel
What did you want to be when you grew up? Marine Biologist

If you could stock your fridge with one food, what would it be? Pie

You can find Paper Selvage online at:

Thank you Lorelai for stopping by and sharing more about your shop!

Take a minute and go check out her shop. Come back and share with us what your favorite item in her shop is.

Pinterest Project #5

Guess what it is another yummy recipe!

Super yummy funnel cake bites! Bring the fair to your home!

I don't know about you but I love getting funnel cakes at fairs, so when I saw this recipe that I could make something similar at home but in smaller pieces I had to try it.

Here are my finished ones. A few of them ended up a bit big but they still tasted great. Also I got a little carried away with the powdered sugar. My kids were so excited to see these after I made them because they love funnel cakes too. What you see on the plate is only half of what the recipe makes. Next time I plan on counting the recipe in half because we were all full after finishing just this plate. We are excited that we can now have funnel cake bites whenever we want and we don't have to wait for the fair to get a funnel cake.

Pinterest Project #4

Another yummy recipe! Can you tell I love finding new recipes.

Delicious Crispy Shrimp Pasta. This is for dinner tonight!

Crispy Shrimp Pasta is yummy and easy to make! Mine turned out with a bit more sauce then what it looks like in the pictures on the website.

Even though it does not look as nice as the one pictured on the website I think it was a hit. I have one kid that loves shrimp and one that loves noodles in creamy white sauce so this met both of their likes in one dish. We will be adding this recipe to our rotation list of meals.

A Look Back At August

I thought it would be fun to take a look back at what all I made in the month of August. Remember some of these items are not for sale.

Crayola Owl - I think this is my favorite owl to date that I have made.

Pinkie the Monster Basket - Headed to its new home today.

Aubie the Monster which will be headed to its new home on Friday!

I am sure everyone knows who this is.

My son had to have an airplane after the air show we went to on vacation.

Mrs. Elf - soon to be a Mr. Elf too.

Gabriella the Owl - She is still available in my shop.

Yelbie and Spikey Monster Hoop Art - They are still available in my shop.

Two cute little birds - the tiniest things I have ever made.

Have to say it was a pretty busy month even with getting ready for the kids to go back to school.
