Featured Shop Wednesday: Lady Lack's Designs

Welcome to a new week of Featured Shop Wednesday! This week please welcome Randi from Lady Lack's Designs!

Tell me a bit about yourself
I am a stay at home Mom, to four kids, that uses her extra time quilling, sewing, crafting, gaming, reading, and listening to music. I like to try everything at least once. I am easily distracted by sparkly things, and will completely drop whatever I am doing to hear about a good book. I love social media and am inspired by everything that is shared. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. Also, I am a huge supporter of buying handmade.

Tell me about your shop and what you make.
My shop is Lady Lack's Design and I make Quillicious Art and sew on the side. Quilling has always been a passion with me. I have been doing it for about 11 years now, and I love that I am still growing and learning new things about it everyday

What inspires you to make what you make?
My kids inspire me a lot. The rainbow star I made reminds me of my oldest daughter. She is so friendly and personable, and that is what I tried to put into the star. The tree was for me, I have always had a slight obsession with trees. I do draw a lot from nature and people around me.

Anything else you would like the readers to know about your shop or what you make.
I am always quilling something and posting work in progress pictures on my Instagram, and facebook pages.

Featured Shop Wednesday: Sweet Pea Designs by Dee

Welcome to a new week of Featured Shop Wednesday! This week please welcome Denise from Sweet Pea Designs by Dee.

Tell me a bit about yourself
I am a mother of 2 and grandmother of 2. I live in a small town in northeast Pa. with my husband, Rick, and my precious cat Racketts. When I'm not sewing I enjoy being outside in my gardens. I love flowers. I also enjoy going to auctions and searching flee markets for that special treasure. I have always enjoyed crafting but sewing has always been a passion. I use to make clothes for my children when they were young, and I loved making them Halloween costumes. So when I retired last year after 13 years managing a bakery, I decided to turn my passion of sewing into a business. With the help of my daughter, Amanda, Sweet Pea Design by Dee was born.

Tell me about your shop and what you make.
I make little girls and boys clothing size 3 mo.- 6 years. Dresses, skirts and aprons for the little girls. Shorts, rompers and aprons for the little boys.

What inspires you to make what you make?
I am inspired by my granddaughter. I love making pretty little dresses for her, and I just love to sew!

Anything else you would like the readers to know about your shop or what you make.
Everything I make is made with great care. Hand sewing where needed.

Take a minute and go check out her shop. Then come back and share what item you would like from her shop. I am quite biased since I own two pieces from her. One is the apron that my son is wearing pictured above and an apron my daughter owns too. I highly recommend Sweet Pea Designs by Dee, because she is great to work with and makes great quality clothing. My kids love wearing her aprons and put them on any chance they get.

Getting to Know Me #3

A while back I shared a post about how I started my shop here. I decided I would ask on my Facebook fan page for some questions that the fans had for me to get to know me or my shop better. Well today is the third in Getting to Know Me better series.

Tracee asks, "How do you keep organized?"
One way I stay organized is by keeping lists everywhere. I have lists right next to my crochet stuff that helps with all my business stuff. Then I have lists in my kitchen and on an online mom forum I am part of to keep the rest of my life organized. I also made this year a information center in my kitchen that helps keep all aspects of my life organized. Here is a partial picture, can't show all because has personal information. Pictured (binders to keep school information for kids, cork boards to put important papers that need to be seen daily), and not pictured (large calendar I write what is going on daily, plain white board to write important notes and reminders to self, folders to hold work related, health, and home information)

Ashley asks, "What is your favorite craft to create?"
I love to crochet, but the craft I enjoy the most that I do for myself is button art. Crafting for myself gives me time to relax and do something for myself, so I like to do other types of crafts. Here is some of the button art I have made this year.

LuAnne asks, "Do you listen to music while crafting, if so what kind?"
I actually do not listen to music while crafting. Most of the time I am listening to my kids playing or if it is late at night then the tv is usually on either a baseball game, The Big Bang Theory, or repeats of Everybody Loves Raymond or The Cosby Show.

Featured Shop Wednesday: Sewing Wild Roses

Welcome to a new week of Featured Shop Wednesday! This week please welcome Jen from Sewing Wild Roses!

Tell me a bit about yourself
I'm Jen, I am a mom to an adorable little girl, 3 adopted retired racing greyhounds & 3 adopted kitty cats. I am a former signage project manager and I apply my project management skills to just about everything in my life. I am a planner by nature. I started my business a few years ago as a creative outlet for my down time from my full time job. After the birth of my daughter in 2012, my amazing husband and I made some life changes and I turned my focus towards the growth of the business in order to be home with her.

Tell me about your shop and what you make.
I create various types of handbags, totes, tablet cases and much more.  Any of my items can be customized & personalized to suit the customer's needs & desires. I am always thinking of new products for the shop and can't wait to be able to get them done and share with everyone.

What inspires you to make what you make?
I am very passionate about sewing and creating. I love working with cotton and creating soft bags that have both utility and beauty. I think accessories are so important to a woman's overall style, which effects how good they feel. I know I love all my handbags, even if I don't get to make too many for myself these days.

Anything else you would like the readers to know about your shop or what you make.
I take a lot of pride in my work and I hope that my customers can see that when they receive their item. I just love making custom orders, it adds that personal touch to an item that can't be found at the store.

Fun Questions:

Favorite Color: Green
Favorite TV Show: Doctor Who

Favorite Season: Autumn
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor:  I'm actually not crazy about ice cream, I prefer salty junk foods. But if I had to pick one, I guess it would be strawberry.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I can't say I really remember from when I was little, but in high school I decided I wanted to major in psychology, and potentially become a therapist.
If you could stock your fridge with one food, what would it be?
Does "carbs" count as one food? That's tough to pick just one thing, but I guess I'd go with pasta with my family's recipe of homemade spaghetti sauce.

Take a minute and go check out her shop. Then come back and share what item you would like from her shop. My favorite is her grey chevron wristlet that is pictured above.
