I am Thankful

Today I want to spend a little time talking about what I am thankful for this year! It has been a year of ups and downs for us, which I think everyone experiences.

First, I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to crochet and make wonderful items for people all over the world.  It brings me so much joy to see the items I make go off to their new homes where they will be loved by others. I wouldn't be able to do this without the support of my family.

Second, I am thankful for all my family and friends who have been behind me as I fight for my son's needs. It has been hard at times but we have made it through it and will continue to. They are also with me now as we go through the ups and downs of my father having dementia.

I am thankful for all the staff at my son's preschool and now the wonderful staff at his elementary school that have helped us in this journey of extreme anxiety and selective mutism. It was a long beginning of the year as we went through getting him diagnosed and then getting services set up for him to start kindergarten this past August. It is so amazing to have a school that has experience with selective mutism and has done the research so they can help these children. He may not be talking but he is participating in nonverbal ways and has made a couple friends that help him out.

It is very cold outside right now with temperatures in the teens so I am very thankful for a house that keeps me warm. Lastly, I am thankful for my husband that works very hard to take care of us.There are many more things I am thankful for but I am going to stop here for today.

What are some of the things you are thankful for today?
